82-year-old in mortal danger after tractor accident

On Wednesday evening, an 82-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident with a vineyard tractor in the Tillmitsch area (Leibnitz district) in Styria.

The pensioner from the Leibnitz district was probably driving his vineyard tractor on a road in Steingrub (Innerberg). At around 5 p.m., a local resident found the man lying on the road and called the emergency services. The tractor was in a ditch at the side of the road. It is not yet known how the accident happened.

To hospital by helicopter
After initial treatment, the 82-year-old was flown to Graz Regional Hospital by the C17 rescue helicopter with life-threatening injuries. The Tillmitsch fire department was deployed with 14 firefighters and two vehicles.
