Smoked meat cupboard on fire: Possible smoke inhalation
A smoked meat cupboard caught fire in Pischelsdorf am Kulm (Weiz district) on Tuesday night. The three occupants - a 25-year-old woman and her 60-year-old parents - are suspected of suffering from smoke inhalation.
Shock in Pischelsdorf am Kulm: On Tuesday night, a smoked meat cupboard caught fire. At around 11 p.m., the 23-year-old resident noticed the smoke and called the fire department. Her two parents were still asleep on the upper floor at the time.
Suspected smoke inhalation
She quickly ran upstairs and woke the two 60-year-olds. Together they fled outside. All three residents had to be taken to hospital in Hartberg with suspected smoke inhalation when the emergency services arrived.
46 firefighters from the Romatschachen and Pischelsdorf fire departments were on site with six vehicles. The entire house was very smoky and could only be cleared of smoke using a high-pressure fan. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are still unclear.
