Woman (28) ends up in the ditch in Styria

Serious accident in Grafendorf near Hartberg: A 28-year-old woman left the road on Tuesday evening and ended up in a ditch. She injured herself so badly that she had to be taken away by a rescue helicopter. It is still unclear why the accident occurred.

The 28-year-old was on her way from Grafendorf to Lafnitzt at around nine o'clock in the evening when the accident occurred. For unclear reasons, she veered off the right-hand side of the Wechsel road and was thrown into the ditch along with her car.

Rescue helicopter Christophorus 17 was deployed
Drivers following behind freed her from the car, treated her and called the emergency services. A rescue helicopter also had to be deployed. The 28-year-old woman was flown to hospital with indeterminate injuries.

The car was recovered with total damage by a towing company. 70 members of the Grafendorf and Lafnitz volunteer fire departments were deployed - they kept the main road closed for two hours.
