This comes as a surprise
DFB team: Nagelsmann sorts out Bayern veteran
The official squad announcement will not take place until Thursday, but the news has already caused quite a stir in the German media: DFB coach Julian Nagelsmann is apparently doing without Bayern veteran Leon Goretzka for the next two international matches!
As reported by Bild, Goretzka will not be in the German national team coach's squad. A decision that comes as quite a surprise. After all, the 29-year-old has performed strongly of late and was a mainstay in Bayern's midfield. Goretzka shone with two goals and two assists in the 8-1 win over Mainz at the weekend.
"DFB-Knall" - headlines the "Bild" in bold letters. Goretzka will therefore be missing from the test matches against France (March 23) and the Netherlands (March 26) ahead of the home EURO in the summer.
Shooting star included
However, another Bayern player can be happy: Aleksandar Pavlovic is set to be included. The 19-year-old, who is also eligible to play for Serbia, is regarded as one of Munich's great hopes for the future.
