CHEER CHAMPIONSHIP
Dragon girls dethrone Vikings for the first time
Change of guard at the national cheerleading championships! For the first time, the Dragons from Donaustadt and not the Vienna Vikings took the title in the "premier class" Senior All Girl Premier.
As there is no suitable hall available in Vienna, the national championship was held in Perchtoldsdorf. For the first time, it was not the subscription champions in purple, the Vikings Allstars, who came out on top, but their permanent green rivals from Donaustadt, the Fierce Dragons.
"Indescribable! The jubilation over the first gold medal was huge. We went onto the mat with a good feeling and are now leaving the mat with an even better one. This success is the result of years of hard work," said Fierce athlete Sarah Hofmann and her teammates, celebrating the national title.
Both the Dragons and the Vikings cleared the 65-point hurdle to qualify for the Sport Austria Finals 2024 in Innsbruck from May 29 to June 2. However, they will have the chance for revenge next weekend. The International Cheer Masters will take place in Südstadt. The 2400 tickets were sold out within minutes!
