Focus on the "child prodigy"
Darts spat: “I hope the arrogance punishes him”
The air is thick in the darts world: After his defeat against "wunderkind" Luke Littler, Ricardo Pietreczko lashed out at the Englishman. "I hope the arrogance punishes him," the German scolded the 17-year-old.
In the semi-finals of the Belgian Darts Open, Pietreczko was beaten 3:7 by the shooting star of the darts scene. Things got really heated during the subsequent handshake: Pietreczko talked to Littler. The latter no longer understood the world. Littler gesticulated and indicated that Pietreczko should leave the stage.
A short time later, Pietreczko spoke out via Instagram. "I really appreciated that you can play a game like that at such an age. But I hope the arrogance punishes him," the 29-year-old couldn't help but take a swipe at Littler.
Magical debut
Littler proved once again in Belgium that he is not called a "child prodigy" without good reason. In the final, the darts extraordinaire beat his compatriot Rob Cross 8:7, even managing a 9-darter. So Littler won the tournament on his debut on the European Tour - impressive!
