Drunk driver causes accident: six injured

A serious traffic accident on Sunday evening in Ilztal in eastern Styria: a 25-year-old driver with three passengers on board crashed into an oncoming car. A total of six people were injured and the drunk driver was trapped in the wreck.

At around 9 p.m. on Sunday, a 25-year-old man from eastern Styria was driving his car on the B54 Wechsel Straße in the direction of Gleisdorf. He had two women and a man, all 21 years old, on board.

Oncoming traffic overlooked
When the driver turned at an intersection and drove back onto the B 54, he probably overlooked an oncoming car and a collision occurred, according to the police. The driver of the oncoming car (22) and his 24-year-old passenger, as well as the driver who caused the accident and his passenger, were injured.

The 25-year-old driver was even trapped in the wreck and had to be freed by the fire department with serious injuries. According to the police, he was under the influence of alcohol.
