League leaders GAK win small derby

GAK narrowly retained the upper hand in the small Graz derby against Sturm Graz II. The superior second division leaders prevailed 1:0 (0:0) in Wiener Neustadt after being outnumbered for almost 70 minutes.

Captain Milos Jovicic scored the decisive goal with a header (48'). Sturm's Simon Nelson was sent off with a red card in the 21st minute after an emergency brake against Daniel Maderner.

GAK close to championship title
GAK are eleven points clear of Leoben at the top of the table after 19 rounds. Storm's second team are 14th in the table and still in acute danger of relegation. GAK also won the first match of the season 1:0.
