With his mother's car
Drunk 17-year-old speeds past civil patrol car
In addition to criminal prosecution, this could also have meant trouble with his mother: A 17-year-old overtook a civil patrol in Rohrbach (Upper Austria) in her car at far too high a speed. The reason for the overconfidence could have been alcohol, as the young driver had 0.44 per mille in his blood.
On Wednesday evening at around 9.30 p.m., the holder of a probationary driving license from Pfarrkirchen was driving his mother's Audi A4 out of town in Rohrbach. He overtook a civilian police patrol at excessive speed and drove past a safety island on the left.
Still driving dangerously
On the following journey, the officers also noticed that the new driver's license holder was disregarding a stop sign and driving through a 30 km/h zone at around 85 km/h. In addition, the car repeatedly veered far to the left over the middle of the road.
Drinking beer while driving
The police stopped the crazy driving and asked the young driver to take a breathalyzer test, which was positive at 0.44 per mille. He admitted to drinking two beers before the journey and a few sips of the passenger's beer while driving.
