What makes Salzburg’s power women stand out
Whether as a functionary, coach or athlete: these ladies are role models for the next generation. From ski president Roswitha Stadlober to snowboard queen Claudia Riegler and mountain bike dominator Vali Höll.
International Women's Day is all about women. The "Krone" took a look at Salzburg's power women and wanted to know what makes these ladies stand out.
Claudia Rieger
"Claudia has an irrepressible will. She is characterized by her incredible optimism and perseverance. She has the belief that anything is possible," enthuses sister Manuela (left) about snowboard queen Riegler.
Sandra Flunger
The former biathlete is now a successful coach in Switzerland. She previously also worked with Simon Eder.
Roswitha Stadlober
"My mom is a real power woman," says Teresa Stadlober about Roswitha (right), the ÖSV president.
Lisa Sernow
On first-name terms with the animals as a curator at the zoo, captain of the Volleygirls. Brother Paul raves: "Lisa is collegial, honest, simply wonderful as a person."
Valentina Höll
The downhill dominator hurtles down various mountain bike trails with no regard for losses. This year, the Pinzgau native is hoping to win her third world championship title.
This year, the motto for International Women's Day 2024 is: "Invest in women: Accelerate progress".
