First week without road deaths in ten years
For the first time in ten years, there were no road fatalities in Austria in the previous week. No one lost their life on the roads between February 26 and March 3.

Motorcycle season is likely to start earlier
At the same time, there are calls for increased driving discipline. With spring approaching and the mild temperatures, the 2024 motorcycle season could start earlier, which could lead to an increase in road fatalities.
In general, however, the picture is positive: according to provisional figures, 33 people were killed in road traffic accidents in Germany between the beginning of the year and the end of last week. In the same period last year, the figure was 55, including late reports.
The main causes of accidents continue to be distraction and inappropriate speed.
