Becoming an actress or actor is a dream for many people from an early age, but only a few are able to realize this dream and play an active role in a film. The "Krone" now gives you the chance to realize this dream and gives you a speaking role in the Austrian cinema production "Die Geierwally".
Discover the captivating story, based on the novel of the same name by Wilhelmine von Hillern, in which a young heiress, caught between tradition and her heart's desires, has to fight for her love and happiness. In the summer of 2024, talented actors and actresses want to give this work a new shine.

Look forward to a new interpretation of the captivating story, which is set in the Alps and sheds light on the dramatic life of young Walburga "Wally" Stromminger. Wally grows up under difficult circumstances, is blamed by her father for the death of her mother and finds comfort and strength in her unusual friendship with an eagle chick. Despite her love for Joseph Hagenbach, a respected hunter, she is forced by her father to marry the farmer Vinzenz Gellner.
Wally's quest for love and freedom leads to her expulsion from the community and forces her to start a new life on the Hochalm. After she learns of the injustice on her farm and a misunderstanding leads to a catastrophe, she returns to fight for justice. This story combines the beauty of the Alpine landscape with a profound portrayal of human passion, love and the tireless struggle for personal freedom.
First successes
Mario Dengler and Sabrina Engl wrote the screenplay for the remake over the summer and created a stirring, historical romantic drama - a very special blend of the fictional Geierwally and the original character Anna Stainer-Knittel. The fact that the feature film has the potential to become a major German-language production is also shown by the interest in the recently released short film, which was not only one of the semi-finalists at the international short film festival in Rome, but even took first place at the Los Angeles Film Awards.
With a proper respect for the historical pioneers and a lot of enthusiasm for the cultural and everyday goods of the 19th century, the duo and a talented group of artists want to present history in a completely new light.
