Unable to swerve: car hits pedestrian
It could have ended much worse: On Sunday evening, the local driver (55) of a car in Sölden in the Tyrolean Ötztal was unable to avoid a pedestrian (23). The car grazed the exterior mirror. However, the 23-year-old was still injured.
The accident occurred shortly before 6 pm. The 55-year-old was driving his car on the B186 in Sölden. "He noticed a 23-year-old pedestrian from the Netherlands coming along the side of the road," said the investigators. As the driver was approached by a bus, he was unable to take evasive action, resulting in a collision.
There was contact with the right-hand wing mirror of the car and the pedestrian.
