Store burglary: several weapons stolen

On Sunday night, a gun store in Knittelfeld (Murtal district) was broken into: Several handguns were stolen. An initial search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful.

At around 11.30 p.m. on Sunday, the acoustic alarm was triggered in the store in Knittelfeld town center. The perpetrators broke the padlock on the barrier in front of the entrance door and smashed the security glass on the door. In the sales room, the strangers smashed a glass display case and stole six handguns of various brands, according to the police.

An immediate search by the police has so far been unsuccessful. Investigations are ongoing. According to police spokesman Reinhard Gartner, the perpetrators proceeded very purposefully.
