He hasn't forgotten how to do it after all: after a difficult season so far, double Olympic champion Johannes Strolz has sensationally carved his way to 4th place in the Aspen slalom! If the sun had managed to penetrate the dense clouds over the posh ski resort in the USA, it could hardly have shone any brighter than the Vorarlberg native ... 

"I made up my mind that I wanted to see the green light at the finish, and that worked out for me," said Strolz, who was in 13th place after run 1 and whose relief at finishing in the top spot after many frustrating months was written all over his face. "I skied very well in the lower section."

"We've made a lot of progress recently!"
"Compliments to the service man, we've made a lot of progress recently and are on the right track," said the Vorarlberg native, not forgetting to mention his team. Finding the set-up for these races was difficult, he said, as the team had to adapt brutally quickly to the different track conditions.

Incidentally, with 4th place in the Aspen slalom, Strolz achieved his ex aequo second-best placing ever in the World Cup: he had also finished fourth in Garmisch and Flachau in 2022, and was only ranked better as the winner of Adelboden ...
