Small plane makes a belly landing in Zell am See

The fire department had to be called out to an unusual operation in Zell am See at around 4.30 p.m. on Saturday. An aircraft had to be recovered from the airport runway.

On landing, the aircraft appeared to have touched down normally, but then the landing gear collapsed for unknown reasons and the aircraft came to a standstill lying on its fuselage.

Under the expert guidance of airport staff, the aircraft was lifted onto a trailer using a crane. It was not damaged further. The operation was completed after just one hour. No one was injured.
