New plans
Liesersteig about to open!
The future of the popular connecting route between Seeboden and Spittal should be secure! But it will no longer be run as an ordinary family trail.
The population had actually long since given up hope that the Liesersteig would ever be reopened. However, as the "Krone" has now learned, there are still plans for the connecting route between Seeboden and Spittal.
Reopening - but only for the experienced
The trail has been closed for years for safety reasons and would have to be renovated from the ground up, as we reported. But in the fall, no one felt responsible for this on the part of the municipal politicians. Now, however, a decision seems to have been made. "The path will be refurbished and maintained by the Alpine Club," according to the two responsible municipalities of Seeboden and Spittal, who have also agreed to share the upcoming renovation costs. However, the Liesersteig will no longer be a family hiking trail as before.
"It will be more of an alpine trail," says the plan: "That means you have to be sure-footed and already practised. The route is therefore not suitable for children." The trail will be prepared in spring and then reopened for experienced hikers.
