Door opened: Female biker injured in evasive maneuver
A serious accident in the Tyrolean capital on Thursday. The driver of a white van opened the door while driving. A cyclist (42) had to swerve out of the way and crashed as a result. The driver left the seriously injured woman lying there and fled the scene.
The accident happened shortly before 7 pm. The 42-year-old was riding her bicycle northbound on Leopoldstraße. While she was riding, the driver of the van opened the driver's door. "The woman maneuvered the bicycle to the left to avoid a collision," said the police.
The 42-year-old was seriously injured in the fall.
