Drunkard hit Tyrolean (59) with a cup

A Croatian man (28) is temporarily behind bars in Galtür in the Tyrolean district of Landeck. The reason: while heavily intoxicated, he attacked a local man (59) with a coffee cup in a hotel. The victim suffered a laceration.

The incident took place on Friday at around 4.30 pm. In a hotel in Galtür, the 28-year-old suddenly attacked the 59-year-old. "He hit him several times on the back of the head with a coffee cup, causing it to break", according to the police. Another guest rushed to the victim's aid and was able to chase the attacker away.

The Croatian was heavily intoxicated at the time of the attack.

As a result of the attack, the Tyrolean suffered a laceration around five centimeters long on the back of his head. After first aid, the ambulance took him to a doctor. The Croatian was heavily intoxicated at the time of the attack. He was provisionally arrested by the officers. He will be questioned on Saturday with an interpreter.
