Rock for kids
“Heavysaurus” delivered a dinosaur rock show in Hallwang
Seasoned musicians slip into dinosaur costumes and play heavy metal. Sounds completely crazy? Not for the men from "Heavysaurus" and their young followers. Now the band has come to Salzburg for the first time.
Only bearded men with long hair listen to heavy metal. Not at all! When the dino rockers from "Heavysaurus" are on stage, there are children in the audience who go wild. Hundreds of young visitors made the pilgrimage with their parents to the Hallwang Cultural Center on Thursday to meet their musical heroes.
"Heavysaurus" are five musicians from Germany in dinosaur costumes who combine hard rock rhythms with child-friendly lyrics. Instead of death and the devil, the dinosaurs prefer to sing about chewing gum, friendly witches, friendship and the fascination of rock. The idea came from Finland. Professional musicians founded a similar project there - with the aim of introducing their own children to rock music.
The German rock dinosaurs have similar ideas. "We'll make sure that your children don't become Helene Fischer fans," they said during their guest performance in Hallwang. Applause from the audience, young and old!
Heavysaurus" will be coming to Salzburg again in the fall. On October 13, the dinosaurs will make a guest appearance at the Mozarteum. Dino rock meets high culture. .
