Gandler 15th in the singles in Oslo – Tandrevold wins
The Austrian biathletes missed out on the top places in the singles in Oslo. Anna Gandler finished 15th over 15 km on Friday with two misses, while Lea Rothschopf came 24th in her World Cup debut, also with two penalty minutes.
World Cup leader Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold ensured a Norwegian victory, as did Sturla Holm Laegreid in the men's event. David Komatz was among the leaders for a long time, but only finished 21st after a shooting error.
This happened to the 32-year-old at the very end of the last shooting and prevented him from finishing in the top ten in the 20-kilometer race. In the end, Komatz was 3:22.2 minutes down on the winner. Simon Eder missed twice in the third shooting and had to settle for 35th place (+4:48.5 min.). Dominic Unterweger finished in 42nd place (+5:41.1 min.). Laegreid led a Norwegian triple victory at Holmenkollen ahead of Tarjei Bö (+28.5 seconds) and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (+1:05.6 min.). World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bö also finished fifth.
Tandrevold managed a home victory with one penalty, well ahead of Sweden's Elvira Öberg and her Norwegian compatriot Ida Lien. World champion Lisa Vittozzi secured fourth place to win the individual World Cup globe after three races this season. Lisa Hauser finished 40th with three penalty minutes. The women's race had originally been scheduled for Thursday, but bad weather forced a postponement. Fog also delayed the start on Friday by half an hour.
