Lewy opens up about “difficult time for Xavi”

It's over after this season! Xavi will vacate the FC Barcelona coaching bench in the summer, with the 44-year-old no longer feeling the energy he did at the start of his time with the Catalans. Robert Lewandowski has now commented on his coach's feelings in an interview.

"I understand that it's a very difficult and very emotional time for Xavi," said the striker. "Being a former Barca player and now coach of Barcelona is very difficult for him because he is a very emotional person."

Lewandowski is convinced that Barcelona is more than just a club for the former Catalan midfielder and that it is also difficult for his family.

Xavi took over as coach at Camp Nou in 2021 and became Spanish champion with the Blaugrana in 2023. It is still unclear what the Spaniard will do after his time at Barcelona.
