Mother of three children caught after 173 crimes

After numerous property crimes were proven against her in spring 2023, a 42-year-old woman from the Lower Mühlviertel (Upper Austria) has now been caught red-handed again in the act of a sneak-in theft. The mother used the stolen goods to support herself and her three children.

Last spring, the 42-year-old was caught red-handed in a cellar burglary. According to the police, a total of 153 property crimes were proven against her at the time. However, this did not stop the woman from the Mühlviertel district of Perg from striking again later.

18 thefts by stealth
As has now become known, the 42-year-old was caught red-handed again in December last year during a sneak-in theft and provisionally arrested. Between May and December, the investigators proved that she had committed 18 such thefts and two burglaries in the districts of Perg, Amstetten, Freistadt and Steyr-Land.

Mostly confessed
The mother is said to have broken in mostly in the early hours of the morning and was not even deterred by sleeping residents. She used the stolen goods to support herself and her three children.

She has now largely confessed to the charges. The woman was taken to Linz prison.
