Medical emergency leads to head-on crash

A car driver's temporary medical problem led to a head-on collision in Albersdorf-Prebuch on Wednesday afternoon - two people were injured!

At around 2.30 pm, a 19-year-old driver from the district of Weiz was driving on the B 64 towards Gleisdorf. Presumably due to a temporary medical problem, he crossed into the oncoming lane. An oncoming 55-year-old man from the district of Weiz was unable to avoid a collision with his pickup truck despite braking immediately and taking evasive action - a head-on collision occurred!

Both drivers injured
After initial treatment by the Red Cross and the emergency doctor, both drivers were taken to Weiz Regional Hospital with injuries for further examination. The Albersdorf volunteer fire department was deployed with two vehicles and 15 personnel to recover the damaged vehicles and clean the road.
