Attacked by strangers in the middle of Praterstern

A violent brawl broke out in the middle of Vienna's Praterstern on Saturday afternoon. Several men attacked each other with punches and pepper spray.

According to the police, two 28-year-olds and two initially unknown men attacked a 20-year-old and a 26-year-old with punches and pepper spray for as yet unexplained reasons.

But that was not all, as the violent altercation moved to a pub a little later. There, one of the suspects grabbed a glass of beer and attacked the 20-year-old with it. Pepper spray was also used again. Attentive witnesses immediately alerted the police.

Both victims sustained minor injuries in the incident and were taken to hospital. Two suspects were provisionally arrested. Two others are on the run. During questioning, all those involved gave contradictory statements about the attack. They have been released.
