Boy (13) pushed against house wall by car
A small mistake with serious consequences happened on Tuesday evening in a small Kamptal community in Lower Austria, as a result of which a 13-year-old boy had to be flown to hospital by emergency helicopter.
A grandmother had wanted to drive off with her two grandchildren and had already started the car parked in the driveway. Only then did the woman want to fetch the two children, but had probably already put the car in neutral. The car then rolled off by itself on the slightly sloping driveway.
Not enough power
The 13-year-old boy noticed this and had the presence of mind to intervene. He ran behind the car, but the boy's strength was not enough to stop the vehicle, which weighed several tons. He was pushed against the wall of the house by the car, trapped and injured. Although the accident victim could be freed quickly, he still had to be flown to hospital in Krems. A fracture of the left arm was diagnosed there.
