Because of "magic wand"
Harry Potter fan triggers major police operation
A Harry Potter fan has inadvertently triggered a cinematic police operation in England. Several officers rushed to a hotel in Enderby, near Leicester, after a man was allegedly seen "with a large knife".
Once there, the police officers were able to solve the case quickly. "After making inquiries, we quickly established that it was a Harry Potter fan with a wand," a local police officer posted on Facebook.
The police officer drew a positive balance: "Fortunately, none of those present were harmed and there were no signs of Voldemort."
"Expecto patrol-man"
The announcement prompted jokes on social networks. "Expecto patrol-man", was one user's variation on the Harry Potter spell "Expecto patronum". Another user asked whether the police really meant "sirius" - a pun on the English word "serious" and the name of Harry Potter's godfather Sirius Black.
"Harry Potter" is a series of novels for children and young adults by English author Joanne K. Rowling about the eponymous character of magical origin and his circle of friends as students at the British wizard boarding school Hogwarts. The books, which have sold hundreds of millions of copies worldwide, have also been successfully adapted into films.
