Lower Austria: Train derailed after collision with truck

There was a serious accident between a truck and the Aspangbahn in Traiskirchen (Lower Austria) on Thursday afternoon. 

According to the police, the collision occurred at around 3 pm. The train derailed and the truck, which was loaded with vehicle parts, was thrown into the ditch, reported the district fire department.

Railroad line closed
All occupants were able to get out independently. Six people were reportedly taken to hospital for clarification. The railroad line was temporarily closed.

Allow for delays
ÖBB reported that a rail replacement service was set up between Felixdorf station and Traiskirchen Aspangbahn station. Passengers had to allow up to 30 minutes extra travel time.
