Explosion at Russian arms factory site

According to media reports, a serious explosion occurred on the test site of a Russian arms factory 1000 kilometers east of Moscow on Wednesday evening.

However, the explosion and the column of fire that could be seen on social networks were not caused by an accident, but by the scheduled test of a rocket engine. This was reported by the Russian state news agency Tass, citing civil protection authorities.

There were initially no indications that Ukraine was responsible for the explosion. The distance to Ukraine is more than 1400 kilometers as the crow flies.
