Cooperation suspended

Report: No more information from US intelligence services

The USA is suspending its intelligence cooperation with Kiev. This could have very serious consequences for the troops on the battlefield.

Even though US President Trump was somewhat more conciliatory towards Ukrainian head of state Zelensky in his speech to Congress, the US is tightening the thumbscrews for Ukraine considerably. Following the scandal in the White House, in which Zelensky and Trump clashed furiously, the US President initially announced that military and financial aid for Kiev would be suspended with immediate effect. Now America has gone one better.

On Wednesday afternoon, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz announced that the United States was also putting its intelligence cooperation with Kiev on hold. "We are reassessing all aspects of our relationship with Ukraine," said Waltz.

This could have devastating consequences for the troops on the battlefield. After all, with the end of American target reconnaissance, Ukraine will become virtually "militarily blind". Until now, it was reconnaissance data from American satellites that showed the Ukrainian military where the Russian troops were and where suitable targets were located, for example for artillery.

This is now no longer possible - at least temporarily. And the Europeans would not be able to compensate for this to the same extent as they do not have enough satellites.

Trump is of the opinion that Zelensky is not prepared to enter into serious peace negotiations as long as he is supported by the USA.
