Brawlers attacked each other with skis and snowboards

A wild mass brawl is believed to have taken place on Wednesday evening in St. Anton am Arlberg (Landeck district). According to the police, up to 15 people attacked each other with skis or snowboards. Two people were injured. Memories of wild scenes from the previous year. 

Spectacular scenes are likely to have taken place in St. Anton at around 9 pm on Wednesday. A police patrol noticed several people attacking each other with skis and snowboards. Up to 15 people are said to have been involved.

A 51-year-old and a 48-year-old Argentinian were seriously injured. A 24-year-old Dutchman was stopped by the police as a suspect. Further investigations are underway.

Memories of the previous year
A similar incident occurred in front of the valley station of the Dorfbahn cable car in Gerlos in the Zillertal last year. Back then, Dutch soccer fans clashed and not only let their fists do the talking, but also threw skis and sticks at each other.

"Two masked Dutch-speaking men attacked a group of around ten Dutch people and then fled," said the police at the time. One Dutchman and an uninvolved passer-by were injured.
