Using the cable car to fight the fire

The members of the Nüziders local fire department had to carry out an unusual operation on Sunday night. After a fire alarm system in the sales stand of the Alpengasthaus Muttersberg sounded the alarm, the question first had to be answered: How do we get to the scene?

The Alpengasthaus Muttersberg is located at an altitude of 1401 meters. Although a forest road leads there, it was impassable on Sunday night due to the onset of winter. So the Florianis switched to a very unorthodox means of transportation: the Muttersberg cable car. 

Fire was quickly extinguished
The firefighters arrived just in time. Although the stall was already completely covered in smoke, there were only a few small flames blazing inside. These were quickly extinguished, so there was no longer any danger to the adjacent restaurant.

Short circuit was probably the cause of the fire
While inspecting the scene of the fire, the emergency services came across a bitten electrical cable. Presumably a rodent had feasted on it, so it is suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit. The property damage is manageable, there were no people on site at the time of the fire.
