Real Madrid knock on former Bayern professional’s door

Real Madrid have been courting Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold for weeks, but have reportedly only received rejections so far. Now a replacement is said to have been found in former Bayern player Benjamin Pavard. 

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", the Madrilenians now have their sights set on the 28-year-old Frenchman from Inter Milan. This is because Dani Carvajal will be out for some time with a cruciate ligament rupture. Is Pavard the right man for the job?

At Bayern, the Frenchman has always played at right-back, but at Inter he plays almost exclusively in central defense. What's more, the Frenchman has three years left on his contract in Milan and a market value of 40 million euros. 

94 million euro deal
However, it is clear that Alexander-Arnold is no longer a transfer target for Real. Liverpool have apparently decided to offer their star player an even more financially strong contract. As the Mirror reports, the Reds want to offer the 26-year-old a five-year contract worth almost 94 million euros. This would see the Premier League leaders significantly outbid Real Madrid's offer.
