Mass brawl in a pub leaves several people injured

An argument between several guests in a pub in the Tyrolean Zillertal escalated completely. Late at night, several men started beating each other up. According to the police, at least five people were injured - apparently including bystanders. 

The escalation had already occurred on Saturday night in a pub in Kaltenbach. Shortly after 1 a.m., several guests got into a heated argument. The police say at least ten people were involved.

Five men injured and taken to hospital
"According to the current state of the investigation, at least three Germans aged between 27 and 30 and two Austrians aged 37 and 41 were injured", the police reported on Sunday. Among the injured are apparently also people "who wanted to mediate the escalation."

All five of the injured were taken to Schwaz district hospital by ambulance after receiving first aid.

Others involved? Police are investigating
The reason for the violent altercation is still unclear. Investigations are underway. Also with regard to the identification of other parties involved, according to the police.
