Ten days of eating and drinking for a good cause

Wolfgang Kapuy-Schwarz, Xaver Paur and Lukas Höller recently had a good idea. The three men are opening their pop-up bar "Wirtshaus Social Club" for ten days in the former premises of Aichinger & Aichinger in Herzog-Leopold-Straße in Wiener Neustadt.

"Anyone can come spontaneously," says a delighted Wolfgang Kapuy-Schwarz. "The bar is intended to be reminiscent of the cozy stand-up bar of the 1980s, with old tables and chairs and quaint posters. We're even going to print out an old 'Krone' article from 1991, frame it and hang it up," says Kapuy-Schwarz.

It starts today, December 5, and is open from Thursday to Sunday. "On these evenings, there will be either live music, lectures or wine tastings," promises the pop-up host. Small dishes are also planned: "From beef tartare to beef goulash and Käsekrainer to pastries from grandma's bakery," Kapuy-Schwarz gives a foretaste.

After deducting the costs, the proceeds will be donated to the organizations 'Holz mit Herz' and Krebshilfe Niederösterreich and presented at the Bauernsilvester celebration.

Opening hours: December 5, 6, 12, 13, 20, 27 and 30 from 5 p.m., December 7, 14 and 21 from 10 a.m.
