Buschenschenke would suit the vineyard better

There's a lot to talk about at the gourmet restaurant Lilienberg in Tainach. First the dedication was gone, now the entire kitchen crew with award-winning chef Thomas Guggenberger is moving to the Wut-Wirt in Millstatt. The high prices are destroying a lot of the luxury restaurant, and landlords would rather turn it into a tavern.

The award-winning restaurant on the Lilienberg is fighting for a new future after the kitchen crew from Tainach will move to the Wut-Wirt in Millstatt.

The restaurant in the vineyards is open until December 22nd, when the winter break begins. Four-toque chef Thomas Guggenberger is still on board; he wants to finish his engagement in peace.

The toque-awarded restaurant, which belongs to the Orasch family, plans to reopen in mid-March with a top international chef. There hasn't been much going on in recent weeks.

The larded prices are to blame. One guest recently paid over 500 euros for a dinner for two, which is a lack of understanding. Instead of a luxury restaurant, many in the catering industry would turn the Lilienberg into an excellent wine tavern - which is what was originally planned for the restaurant.

After all, a great Buschenschenke would go much better with the vineyard. Whether this is feasible remains to be seen. The Christmas market will be back in Tainach before Christmas. Mirjam Orasch - who spoke in the "Krone" newspaper in April about the family's plans to move to Los Angeles because her husband would only be met with hostility as a major investor in Carinthia - is putting it on.

The economic crisis is now also hitting investors hard. Lilihill owner Franz Peter Orasch recently sold his shares in the extensively renovated "Holly" house on Heiligengeistplatz to the Schaschl family. Now the gourmet restaurant is causing concern.
