Relegation battle again

Liefering are once again deep in the relegation battle. After the international break, the young bulls are away to crisis club St. Pölten. A good omen, as the young bulls have always been better away from home this year.

Liefering were hoping for a quieter season in League Two. But the reality is different. With eight points from eight games, Salzburg are almost exactly in the same range as in previous seasons.

So, to paraphrase the New Year's Eve hit "Dinner for one": "The same routine as every year." To break the rut, the away trip to Wr. Neustadt today (18) for the clash with St. Pölten may be just the thing.

The team from Mozart's city have a much easier time away from home, having won both games away from home this season. In addition, coach Beichler's former club has recently mutated into a crisis club. A new coach, Tugberk Tanrivermis, will celebrate his debut at the club. "We've had a good week of training and now we have to turn it into a success," explained Daniel Beichler.

Second Division: Friday: St. Pölten - Liefering, FAC - Bregenz, Austria Lustenau - Ried, Horn - Sturm II, Lafnitz - Vienna, Stripfing - Voitsberg (all 18), Kapfenberg - Rapid II (20.30).
