Huge anger at AC Milan! After the 1-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, coach Paulo Fonseca lashed out at referee Sandro Schärer. Were the Italians deprived of a penalty?

German champions Leverkusen inflicted Milan's second defeat with a goal from Victor Boniface (51'). But the Serie A club felt cheated. In the 92nd minute, Ruben Loftus-Cheek went to ground after a duel with Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie. The latter hit the ball, but also Loftus-Cheek. However, Swiss referee Schärer's whistle remained silent.

The exciting scene at around 01:15 minutes:

"For me it's strange that the referee didn't go to the VAR," scolded Milan coach Fonseca. "During the game, the referee had no doubts about making decisions against us. I don't like talking about referees, but on the pitch we feel when that's the case."

But did the contact actually take place in the penalty area? The TV replays did not clarify this beyond doubt. One thing is certain: There is a lot of anger among the Milanese. After two defeats, they are already under a lot of pressure in the top flight.
