Vienna: Burglar snacked on chocolate sauce in snack bar

Chocolate sauce, liqueur drinks and even cat food: this is what a burglar is said to have consumed in a snack bar in Vienna's Donaustadt district on Sunday evening. The man is said to have used a screwdriver to gain entry. The owner was able to follow the unusual crime via video cameras. 

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday evening, the owner of a snack bar is said to have received an alarm. After observing the thief on video cameras, he immediately called the police. 

Cat food also consumed
The officers were quickly on the scene and were able to arrest the stranger in the act. He was a 27-year-old young man from Syria. He must have been visibly "ravenous", having consumed cat food as well as chocolate sauce and liqueur drinks. 

According to investigators, he is said to have gained access with a screwdriver, which was seized by the police. However, the suspect has yet to be questioned.
