Rabid man injured police officers in Salzburg

A police operation was necessary on Friday evening in the center of Salzburg. Passers-by had raised the alarm because of an aggressive man. He was unruly and injured two police officers.

Officers were alerted by several passers-by on Friday evening near Salzburg's Mirabellplatz to an aggressive man who was involved in verbal disputes. Because he continued to be aggressive and did not cooperate, he was arrested.

But the man became violent. When he was brought to the patrol car, he tried to injure a female officer several times by kicking her and headbutted an officer in the back of the head. The latter suffered injuries to his face.

In the patrol car itself, he again injured an officer in the area of the upper body, as he again put up a massive fight against the officers. According to the police, the detainee was transferred to Puch-Urstein prison.
