Salzburg Floriani support colleagues in the east

A KAT platoon from the city of Salzburg is sent to the flood area in Lower Austria together with other platoons from Lungau, Pongau and Pinzgau to provide assistance. At 5.30 a.m. on Monday, 30 men from the volunteer fire department set off with four vehicles.

After a 24-hour shift, the first volunteers are replaced by up to 50 others on a rotating basis. The current situation in Salzburg allows for this. "The forecasts for further precipitation do not suggest that the situation will get any worse," said Fire Director Reinhold Ortler.
