Argentina canceled
Next setback for speed star Sofia Goggia
Sofia Goggia will not be traveling to Ushuaia as planned to take part in a preparation camp for the new World Cup season. The Italian Ski Association has announced that the speed specialist will have to undergo another operation.
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen During the operation, Goggia will have a plate removed that was inserted after her tibial plateau fracture in February. The 31-year-old had a serious fall during training in Ponte di Legno last February. For the then leader in the downhill World Cup, the season came to a premature end and the Italian wants to get back on the attack next winter.
However, her teammates will board the plane to Argentina without her; Goggia wants to resume her preparations after the operation ("in the coming days").
