Following a software error, the provisional results of the Saxon state elections had to be corrected and the distribution of seats changed retrospectively. There have also been problems in Austrian elections in the past - in 2016, for example, the BP run-off election had to be repeated due to faulty glue. Software errors, technical defects and human error - there are many possible causes that can lead to mishaps during elections. But how transparently are such problems communicated to the public?
