Which traditions should we preserve?

Like every country, Austria has an impressive cultural heritage and is rich in traditions and customs that vary from province to province. We express our identity through clothing such as traditional costumes, culinary delights such as beer and schnitzel, events such as Perchten runs or festivals such as St. Nicholas' Day or carnival. But not all of these still seem contemporary. How do you see it?

Which Austrian traditions are particularly important to you and what specific role do they play in your life? Do you think that all our traditions should be preserved, or are there some that you no longer consider to be in keeping with the times?
