A local thunderstorm cell claimed the fire departments

Fallen trees, covered houses: A local, violent thunderstorm cell with strong gusts of wind claimed the fire departments in south-eastern Styria on Friday evening.

It was a small thunderstorm cell, but it unloaded with full force over south-eastern Styria: according to the Styrian Fire Brigade Association, the municipalities of St. Veit, Straß and St. Peter am Ottersbach were particularly affected. Numerous trees fell and roofs were covered by the storm.

In total, the firefighters were called out to around 40 incidents. Most of them were dealt with by the volunteers in the evening hours.
