Ukraine tests long-range missiles for the first time

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has successfully tested a ballistic missile of its own production for the first time. However, little is known about the weapon.

"The first Ukrainian ballistic missile has been successfully tested," said Zelenskyi at a press conference in Kiev on Tuesday. He congratulated "our defense industry", but declined to give any further details about the missile.

Following the heaviest Russian airstrike in two and a half years of war on Monday, Defense Minister Rustem Umyerev had also said that Ukraine was working on its own long-range weapons.

A few days ago, Zelenskyi presented another Ukrainian home-made product, the jet-powered Palyanytsya combat drone.

The F-16 fighter jets supplied by the West were also used to repel the heavy Russian attacks on Monday and Tuesday morning, said Selensky. He thanked them for this. At the same time, he continued to urge Western partners to lift restrictions on the use of the supplied weapons against military targets in Russia.
