F1 hammer: Mick Schumacher about to make a comeback?

The rumor mill is churning: Mick Schumacher is said to be on the verge of a comeback in Formula 1! The decision could be announced today.

As the "Krone" already reported, Williams driver Logan Sargeant is threatened with losing his cockpit. The wild crash in Zandvoort was his fourth this season after Canada, Miami and Japan. Will Williams now announce the US American's retirement today?

Another driver is due to start next weekend at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Mick Schumacher would be available as a replacement. "If it were my decision, I would lean towards Mick. Of course I'm a bit biased because he's my friend, but in my eyes he's the best solution," says four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who is also campaigning for a comeback for the 25-year-old.

Schumacher's advantage
Mick is "a good racing driver", Vettel emphasizes to "Bild". "He has won Formula 2 and Formula 3 - that's not something to take for granted. Now he has matured again. I'm sure he could impress at Williams."

Schumacher's rivals for the seat at Williams are Franco Colapinto, Williams Junior from Argentina, and Red Bull squad driver Liam Lawson (New Zealand). "Unlike the other candidates, Mick knows the Formula 1 grid and the circuits. That's a big advantage," says Vettel.
