Bruckner celebrations: the City of Linz’s reder has been chosen

Despite all the scandals, the highlights of the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner's birth are about to begin. As soon as the lying affair came to light, it was unthinkable for many that Klaus Luger would be among the speakers at the celebrations. Following his resignation as Mayor of Linz, it is now clear who will take over.

The biggest highlights of the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Anton Bruckner's birth are already scheduled for the beginning of September.

The focus is on the Linz Brucknerhaus, which has been overshadowed by the lying affair involving Klaus Luger, who has since resigned as Mayor of Linz, as we reported.

Were the festival preparations blocked? "No," says René Esterbauer, Commercial Director of LIVA, to the "Krone": "I can assure you that everything is going according to plan as far as our events are concerned and we are in the final phase of all preparations."

The festival representatives finally decided
It has now also been decided who will take part in the upcoming celebrations for the city of Linz: Deputy Mayor Karin Hörzing. She will represent the City of Linz as a speaker at the birthday concert in Ansfelden on Wednesday, September 4, as well as at the Klangwolke on Saturday, September 7 and at the grand opening of the Bruckner Festival on Sunday, September 8.
