Parking on ÖBB lots: Bathers face a fine

The municipality of Kuchl is stepping up the pace! Time and again, bathers at the Bürgerausee are parking in the nearby Park & Ride (P+R) lots in the village - illegally!

 "The spaces are reserved solely for train passengers," emphasizes local leader Thomas Freylinger (ÖVP). He now has the parking ban monitored by a security service.

Parking offenders face fines of almost 250 euros. A few years ago, the municipality created the legal framework to take action against bathers by means of an action for trespassing. The town's website has once again drawn attention to the case these days. The unlawful use of the "P+R" areas is absolutely "no trivial offense", it says.

The mayor of Kuchl is particularly annoyed: "We offer all visitors a great lake area free of charge. And then a few euros for parking is too much for some people." The parking spaces directly by the lake are known to be subject to a charge. The parking spaces near the sports field - and therefore also in the immediate vicinity of the water - are designated as a blue zone. Freylinger: "I have no sympathy for the parking offenders."
