In the crazy heat, two senior citizens (74 and 82) wandered around helplessly in Weyer and Oberneukirchen. But it turned out well. But the search operation was not easy, because one of the missing persons was easy for the dogs to "smell", but not visible to the helpers.

And that in this heat! Two senior citizens got lost while out for a walk. A 74-year-old man from Weyer was reported missing in the afternoon. A large-scale search operation was initially unsuccessful. It was not until around 9 p.m. that dogs from the "Rescue Dogs Austria" search dog team found new clues. The sniffer dogs repeatedly showed traces of the missing person near a stream.

The search was not easy. The dogs were successful, but the missing man was far above them.

At around 10.50 p.m., the 74-year-old was found by Border Collie "Makani" at the edge of a steep path. He was lying on his stomach, responsive, but extremely weak and dehydrated and in danger of slipping into the steeply sloping stream bed. The volunteer fire department helped with the rescue and the senior citizen was taken to the Waidhofen/Ybbs regional hospital.

Firefighter found missing man
A 66-year-old man from Traberg (municipality of Oberneukirchen, Urfahr-Umgebung district) called the emergency services at around 2.50 p.m. and said that his neighbor (82) had been missing since around 10 a.m.. At around 6.40 pm, a firefighter had the right nose and discovered the missing man. He was taken home.
